River City Outdoors is dedicated to making outdoor equipment more accessible to St. Louis residents and community organizations at little to no cost. We do this through boat rentals at Simpson Lake and The Boathouse at Forest Park, and by providing free gear check-out through our Gear Lending Library.

Our Gear Lending Library allows St. Louis residents and community organizations to borrow over 950 pieces of outdoor equipment for free. Simply sign up, attend a training session, and check out items for camping, backpacking, environmental education, and more.

The Boathouse At Forest Park
Explore Forest Park by boat or bike with our rentals. Through Big Muddy Adventures at the Boathouse, we offer paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, double kayaks, standup paddleboards, and bikes in various sizes. For groups renting 10 or more boats or bikes, we accept reservations for an additional, per-item fee on weekdays only.
