Terrain Magazine

In order to raise awareness and promote appreciation of the St. Louis outdoors, River City Outdoor Collaborative publishes Terrain, a bimonthly enthusiast magazine dedicated to supporting outdoor recreation, adventure, and culture. Terrain educates readers on how, where, and why to explore our region’s extraordinary natural assets and features the events, organizations, people, and products that cultivate these outdoor spaces and opportunities.

Gateway Outdoor Expo

River City Outdoor Collaborative produces the annual Gateway Outdoor Expo, the premier outdoor recreation and adventure sports exhibition in Greater St. Louis. The Expo showcases outdoor gear and products, services, resources, and events — as well as interactive demos and free presentations on a variety of active living topics — all in a festive, family-friendly environment.

Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League (MICL)

Terrain Magazine assisted this emergent league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Assocation (NICA) with raising awareness and funds, as well as with attracting student-athletes and coaches, by providing partner marketing and communications services. In 2020, its first year, the MICL set a record for licensed coaches (147) and attracted 262 student-athletes to 18 teams across Missouri. It also brought on NICA’s first ever league-level Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator.

River City Outdoor Collaborative and Terrain Magazine have partnered with Explore St. Louis, the official travel and tourism bureau for St. Louis, to create and share outdoor recreation content for use on the organization’s website and affiliated social media channels.
